In this interview, Talib Jasir, the founder and CEO of Afros & Audio Podcast Festival and Vanguard Podcast Network, hosts Talaya Dendy, founder of the organization ‘On the Other Side.’

Talaya discusses her personal journey as a cancer survivor and how it inspired her to advocate for others going through similar experiences and start the podcast Navigating Cancer Together.

Talaya shares about her Cancer Doula Support Services, which provide comprehensive support for individuals and families dealing with cancer. Talaya’s work also includes creating affirmation cards for cancer patients and caregivers, providing a source of positive reinforcement during challenging times.

Funding is required to continue the podcast and services and provide free support sessions to those who cannot afford them.

Talaya advises anyone starting a podcast to stay true to their mission, values, and ‘why’. The interview also covers the importance of promoting diversity in healthcare and clinical research.
