In this episode of TSB, Caesar, Geeno, Dunks, and Sarena are in-studio.
In our final show of 2019, we make our picks for our second annual Sneaker Royal Rumble.
Dunks triggers Caesar by bringing up what has to be the stupidest Air Jordan release ever. The “laceless” Air Jordan 5 “Fresh Prince”.
Reebok decided to end the year on a high note, releasing probably their best sneaker of the year, the “Heart Over Hype” Reebok Question. This leads to a discussion of which shoes we’re looking forward to getting before the new year.
Jordan Brand has a habit of letting everyone get gassed up expecting a certain shoe to retro, knowing full well that they have no intentions of re-releasing said shoe. People saw that there was a “Red/White-Black” Air Jordan 1 coming out in early 2020 and automatically assumed they were going to be the “Chicago” 1s. Never assume anything with Jordan Brand.
Following in the footsteps of GOAT, StockX has partnered up with the Cleveland Cavaliers to create a unique experience for both NBA players and fans. And by “unique” we mean gratuitous logo placements throughout the arena and the visiting team’s locker room, and using the StockX app on what amounts to a standard size TV instead of the convenience of one’s cell phone.
Middle aged white people everywhere are PISSED about the upcoming jersey changes in the 2020 MLB season. They’re concerned that the Nike Swoosh, which will now be adorned on the front of every team’s jersey, will somehow ruin the sanctity of the game. While the league is aware of those concerns, they have over a billion reasons to not give a sh*t.
In what has to be one of the dumbest sneakers ever produced, PUMA has created a shoe specifically for video gamers. Puma says that their “active gaming footwear” offers support and grip to help overcome the many challenges that come with sitting down and playing video games, while also acknowledging that the shoes will probably offer nothing towards the improvement of performance of the video gamers who would wear them.
And finally, Caesar ends the show giving his two cents on the Nick Cannon X Eminem beef. We think we can all agree that we hope that it doesn’t extend into the new year.
