The flanker recently detailed his experience with mental health on social media, opening up about the struggles he has faced and how much he missed his family while in Japan for the Rugby World Cup.
While the post was flooded with messages of support, some used the opportunity to insult him.
“There were a few comments saying, ‘oh, harden up you p…..,’ or just ‘shut up’,” he told teammate Anton Lienert-Brown during an episode of The Ardie Savea Podcast recorded in Japan.
