Sounds trickle from the speakers and the room fills with the comforting crackle of a station. Maybe this is traditional radio, or maybe this scenario plays out from your phone’s speakers as any number of podcasts or radio station apps narrate to you.

Although National Radio Day passed on Aug. 20, it’s not too late to discover some new radio apps or podcasts. Many of these can be found on your favorite podcast app, Spotify or available for download on the app store.
