One of the most popular true-crime podcasts of all time is coming to the very county from which it took its name as the West Cork podcast crew will host a live show at St Luke’s in April.
The event will be presented by journalist Sam Bungey and documentarian Jennifer Forde, the creators of the podcast series which explored the circumstances surrounding the tragic murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier.
Du Plantier, a French filmmaker, was killed in the West Cork village of Schull in 1996 but the fact that the case had yet to be solved as of 2018 inspired both Bungey and Forde to produce a podcast to examine what they knew of the murder.
The 13-episode series proved massively popular on Audible.com since its release in February 2018 and was named one of the top 50 podcasts in the world by Time Magazine last year. It was also praised by Louis Theroux, one of the world’s most recognised documentary-makers.
