Spotify creates podcast to comfort lonely dogs left at home when owners are away

The podcast, launched with the RSPCA, features the dulcet tones of Call the Midwife’s Jessica Raine and The Office’s Ralph Ineson

There’s nothing quite like the heartbreak of saying goodbye to a dog when you’re leaving the house, even if you’re only nipping to the shop for five minutes.

The lovable creatures can’t seem to get enough of us, whether we’re happy or sad, stressed or subdued, or even if we’re moody and hungover. In fact, canine expert Dr Berns has found that given a choice, some dogs prefer their owners to food.

But Spotify might have developed the answer to casting that guilt aside when we have to leave our beloved pets at home. The streaming service is launching a podcast designed to soothe lonely dogs and help them relax when they’re left without their owners.
