Congratulations on creating your new podcast!   You have placed your ideas out there and are ready to captivate and inspire your audience.

However the digital world has moved on from the philosophy of Field of Dreams: “If you build it, they will come”. But no worries we are here to guide you and insure your hard work is seen by your audience.

Here are some tips on sharing your podcast online:

Have a minimum of three episodes before launching your podcast.

Podcasts are addictive; well good ones at least. You want to ensure that your audience can binge listen to your episodes from the get go.

It will keep them longer and allow more time to get them invested in you and your message.

Create a conversation on social media.

Ensure all your friends, fans and followers know about your exciting new podcast.

A great way to engage your audience without being salesy (or desperate for views) is to open a discussion about the topic your podcast is covering on social media. This places the focus on your audience but opens the door to informing them about your podcast.

Submit your podcast to Apple.

Once you have recorded your episodes you can submit them to Apple.

Apple is the leader in the podcast streaming market. Most of the prominent podcast directory uses Apple’s directory as their master copy. So if your podcasts is there, it should automatically show up in these directories.

As you are aiming to reach an audience for your podcast, it is vital that your podcast be found where podcast listeners naturally are online.

Tap into your guest’s network.

Your guest’s network can be a gold mine for  promotion. Ask them to share their appearances on your show to their followers, which can open your podcast to an entirely new audience.

You can be detailed and provide guest with the exact script for posts to share, along with the images and corresponding links to your podcast.

Furthermore you can be a guest on their podcast and be exposed to their audience directly. Ensure that you have a working link so listeners can be redirected to your podcast.

Submit your podcast to niche podcast aggregators and directories.

Apple podcast is the most well-known podcatcher.

However, with so many podcasts it may be difficult to stand out from the crowd. To combat this, you can also submit your podcast to directories that cater to the niche audience related to your podcast.

It makes it easier to be seen as the audience is already interested in the topic and may be more easily converted to a loyal listener.

So use these tips and go boldly into the podcast world. Your eager audience awaits!
