Listeners are worried about rabbit damage from over the winter. Whether they are talking about a fruit tree or an older established tree – Dave has some advice.

This past winter saw a lot of snow that piled high, so rabbits have been eating higher bark than in previous years. 

Apple tree pro-tip: You can prune branches UNTIL you see leaf buds. Once an apple tree starts to yield leaves, you should not prune any longer for Spring. 

Maple tree pro-tip: You should prune AFTER it leafs out. This will keep the wounds from oozing the syrup out and onto your lawn.
