A new chapter is being written in the Pixies‘ legacy: The New York band announced late Wednesday that a yet-titled new album will be released in September.
The latest rendition of the group includes guitarist Joey Santiago, singer and guitarist Francis Black, drummer David Lovering and bassist Paz Lenchantin. The album will be produced by Tom Dalgety (Ghost, Royal Blood, Pixies’ 2016 album Head Carrier) and was written during 2018. The band recently recorded in December at Dreamland Recordings near Woodstock, N.Y. This will be the group’s second album as a unit and the eighth overall Pixies studio recording.
Perhaps a sign of the times, the notoriously quiet band behind-the-scenes will accompany the project with a 12-episode podcast, giving fans some perspective into the recording process.
