Philadelphia is increasingly becoming a major outlet for podcast production, and with the upcoming “RESPECT: Women’s Podcast Festival” the region is poised to become a leader in showcasing all women-run and narrated podcasts.
Presented by the always innovative Black Tribbles radio show, the summer festival’s primary programming aim is “respect for the varied voices and content women bring to podcast platforms.”
The festival is a natural outgrowth of the annual “Girl Show” podcast initially created by Kennedy Allen (aka Storm Tribble), who was later joined by Ariell Johnson (aka the Uncanny Tribble). Johnson, owner of Amalgam Comics and Coffeehouse, will co-curate the festival with Allen.
