Michigan Wolverines Tarik Black injury fallout

Before Michigan football even began game week for Notre Dame, the Wolverines lost arguably its top receiving option on the roster. Sophomore wide receiver Tarik Black, for the second year in a row, is out indefinitely with a serious foot injury. The severity of the injury remains unknown, but it is clearly a hit for Michigan.

Zach Shaw of The Michigan Insider detailed the aftermath on the 247Sports Morning Blitz podcast.

“There was a lot of initial panic because he obviously missed 10 games last year with a foot fracture that he had to have surgery on,” Shaw said. “There was a lot of fear initially that he had reaggravated that. As anyone who follows sports (knows), if you injure something twice, you might be looking at a career-ending sort of thing. But no, it was his other foot. We’re hearing foot. I’ve heard from two sources, fracture. I think we’re going to hear more from Jim Harbaugh on that Monday.”
