There’s this scene in the Mel Brooks-directed movie Blazing Saddles in which it’s revealed the storyline of people in 19th century western town bombarded with attacks is actually taking place on a Hollywood movie set. 

The cowboys fighting into the movie set of a black-tie musical, with one of the cowboys bellowing, “P— on you, I work for Mel Brooks!” as he punches a movie director. 

That was the moment I was introduced to the world of ““as a nine-year-old kid, and I’ve been a fan of tearing down the fourth wall ever since. 

And yes, podcasts get meta too. This week, I’ll be looking at podcasts that also review other podcasts. For podcast addicts, these shows can be a fantastic resource for finding new pods to listen to — or these shows can be really boring. 

For the record, I tried to find podcasts that review “podcast review” podcasts, but they’re harder to find out there. The sentences get more confusing the more meta it gets. If…
