This week we go in a different direction for the Str8OutDaDen Podcast, as we give the underground emcees a break to talk to the man behind the scenes. Lazies meet Kato. The SMKA/Funk Volume producer sat down with us for a dope convo about his journey from Virginia to Atlanta. We also went into great detail about the gifts and curses of the music industry, along with being Asian in hip-hop. While giving us the origin of his name, Kato also spoke on his relationship with XXL Freshman Jarren Benton (remember that time when he jumped into the crowd during A3C?) and signing to Funk Volume. Very dope conversation indeed. We even did #VinylConversations sans a freestyle, but who knows maybe we will get a chance to hear what he creates from the vinyl we gave him.
